About the Author.

AA Monet is the pen name for the author who decided on this name because it is comprised from pieces of her first and middle name. The author graduated in 2018 with a BA in English with an emphasis in language, writing, and rhetoric from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is an African American female who fell in love with the creativity of poetry while in a high school English class. It was in that class that AA Monet started to use poetry as a therapeutic release to societal pressures and to understand her own emotions. For the poet, poetry gave her pain a place to heal.

AA Monet left a lasting mark in her hometown Omaha, Nebraska with book partnerships with the local bookstores, featuring on local artists albums, paid speaking opportunities, published in the local black-owned newspaper, and more. She is currently located in Summerlin, NV.
